Meredith Brooks, full name Meredith Ann Brooks (Oregon City (Oregon), 12 June 1958) is an American singer/songwriter and guitarist. She is also active as a producer.

Life Course[Edit]Edit

Meredith Brooks grew along with her brother and sister in CorvallisOregon. Her parents divorced when she was still a child and she was raised by her mother. When she was eleven years old, she became fascinated by the guitar and she quickly learned to play the guitar. They excelled at the Academy and beat several years about. She graduated when she was only 15 years. They separated In 1998 of her husband Russell Jackson after they were married seven years.


In the early 1980s, she moved to Los Angeles in order to focus on her career. In Los Angeles she took a different songs on that later appeared in the album See It Through My Eyes. The late 1980s and early 1990s, she was a member of The Graces. They recorded one album, Perfect View on in 1989:.

When she was 39 years old she had her first hitsingleBitch, that give it a nomination for the Grammy Award "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance '. The song was her only big hit so far, and is about the different characteristics of the woman ("I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint": "I'm a bitch, a mistress, a mother, a child, a sinner, a Holy").

Her album blurring The Edges achieved platinum in 1997 and reached the 22nd place on the Billboard 200. To promote this album they toured through the United States and Europe.
